As a family-owned company based in Verona, Wisconsin, Attainment develops practical, evidence-based solutions for academics, communication, assistive technology, life skills, transition, and employment.
Attainment collaborates with leading university researchers and practitioners to turn research into resources educators can use in real classrooms. Its groundbreaking Early Literacy Skills Builder (ELSB) grew from a five-year federally funded research project with the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Today, that commitment extends across literacy and ELA, math, science, social studies, SEL, transition, and professional development.
Attainment provides comprehensive PreK–12+ solutions, including standards-aligned curriculum, digital learning, AAC and assistive technology, independent living and employment resources, and professional development. Programs are designed specifically for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and extensive support needs, with differentiated instruction and multiple ways for students to access learning and demonstrate understanding.

Independent Reading Skills Builder (IRSB) is a multi-year, Science of Reading–aligned curriculum designed for students with moderate-to-severe disabilities and secondary students reading below grade level. Organized into Learning to Read and Reading to Learn, IRSB builds advanced skills in decoding, multisyllabic words, morphology, sight words, comprehension, grammar, spelling, and writing. Predictable, systematic instruction introduces new skills in manageable steps with repeated practice, review, and assessment. Designed for students progressing from ELSB and ERSB or reading independently around a second-grade level, IRSB includes instructor guides, student workbooks, assessment materials, review games, and card sets for engaging, comprehensive literacy instruction.
MYSELF builds lifelong social-emotional skills through five core competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, social skills, and responsible decision-making. Designed for elementary learners, activities extend across individual, classroom, home, and community settings for meaningful real-world practice. Engaging resources include Student Journals, Key Takeaway Cards, Clue Guides, interactive scene posters with magnets, and a board game with practice cards. A simple five-day instructional format makes implementation easy: introduce the skill, practice individually, apply it collaboratively in the classroom, connect learning at home, and extend skills into the community. This consistent structure helps students build confidence, independence, and positive relationships.
BIG Science provides a well-rounded foundation in Earth, Life, and Physical Science through engaging, accessible instruction. Its BIG lesson structure incorporates evidence-based strategies supporting social-emotional learning, collaboration, data-driven planning, and meaningful real-world connections. Hands-on activities and tactile resources reinforce key concepts and are ideal for whole-group, small-group, or center-based instruction. Tiered supports and extensions address the needs of Emerging Learners, students developing Basic Academic Skills, and Advanced Learners. Through multiple instructional approaches, BIG Science promotes active participation, independence, skill maintenance, and generalization, helping students build science knowledge while applying learning across classroom and real-world settings.
DIG into Math & DIG into Social Studies provide accessible, grade-aligned instruction for students with extensive support needs. DIG into Social Studies builds understanding of History, Geography, Economics, and Civics through structured, evidence-based lessons, vocabulary, Big Ideas, and engaging activities. DIG into Math supports NCTM standards for grades 3–5 in Numbers and Operations, Algebra, Geometry, Measurement, and Data Analysis and Probability. Its Discover, Investigate, and Grow framework combines explicit Model-Lead-Test instruction, guided practice, assessments, Challenge lessons, and shared story reading. Both programs provide predictable, engaging instruction with multiple access points to build skills, understanding, participation, and independence.

The IRSB is a multi-year reading curriculum for students with moderate-to-severe disabilities organized into two programs: Learning to Read and Reading to Learn. The IRSB is fully aligned with the science of reading and the science of teaching academic skills to students with moderate-to-severe disabilities. This is the first comprehensive curriculum designed to teach morphological awareness and multisyllabic word reading skills to students with ID/ASD who may have complex communication needs.
